MLS Status Changes

At the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® Broker Roundtable last April, there was a call among brokers for greater transparency and professionalism in the ways in which properties under contract are entered and displayed in HiCentral MLS. Brokers commented on the public's misunderstanding of the ACS and Pending statuses, which can lead to mistrust of REALTORS® and the industry. After reviewing myriad suggestions from brokers, your HiCentral MLS Board has approved revising the listing statuses with more consumer-friendly language, which will become effective in January 2017.

Draft Halawa Area TOD Plan Available for Review

The Department of Planning and Permitting held a third community meeting in Aiea to present the Public Review Draft of the Hālawa Area Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Plan, which plans for the area around the future Aloha Stadium rail station. The Public Review Draft is the result of two earlier community workshops, as well as a market analysis, resident survey and assessment of existing conditions. The plan was developed in coordination with state agencies that are studying options for stadium reconstruction or building a new stadium on the site, along with associated mixed-use development.
