Code of Ethics

The REALTOR® Code of Ethics reflects the high standards of business practice and professional conduct that the public and fellow practitioners can expect of all REALTORS®. The obligations established in the Code of Ethics in many instances are higher than those mandated by law.

Code of Ethics in Other Languages

As an informational service to REALTORS® and their clients and customers, NAR has also made the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice available in several languages.

Pathways to Professionalism

While the NAR Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice establishes objective, enforceable ethical standards, it does not address issues of courtesy or etiquette. The Pathways to Professionalism is a list of professional courtesies for use by REALTORS® on a voluntary basis. This list is not all-inclusive and may be supplemented by local custom and practice.

Publishing the names of Code of Ethics violators

Under Professional Standards Policy 45, the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® will publish the names of ethics violators who meet certain criteria.
