The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® donated $15,000 to the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center in support of its mission to provide counseling, education and support to create successful first-time homeowners in Hawaii.
“We are honored to continue to support such a worthy organization as the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center,” said Jack Legal, President of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®. “Demand for housing is so strong here in Hawaii, and it is important that potential first-time buyers be given all the tools necessary to buy a home. The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center provides those tools, and much more. It is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to purchase their first property.”
The gift was granted by the REALTOR® Housing Fund, an endowment established by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® in 1993 and administered by the Hawaii Community Foundation to provide funds to individuals and families in need of housing assistance, as well as to tax-exempt housing organizations. Past recipients of REALTOR® Housing Fund grants include Honolulu Habitat for Humanity and the National Association of REALTORS® Housing Relief Fund.
“Once again the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® has come through for Hawaii’s families that are seeking to fulfill their dream of owning a home,” said Dennis Oshiro, Executive Director of the Hawaii HomeOwnership Center. “This grant is critical to our ability to provide the necessary support for people navigating the home-buying process.”
