Update on New Shoreline Erosion Task Group

HBR's City Affairs Committee (CAC) has formed our shoreline erosion and sea level rise task group consisting of several REALTORS® and we are excited to get to work. We are grateful for the outpouring of interest we received for this important issue and for participating in this task group.

Thus far, a few guest speakers, including Sam Lemmo from the DLNR, Chip Fletcher from UH Manoa, and Senator Gil Riviere, have joined our meetings. Having our task group members learn and have discussions with experts on this topic is key to establishing a solid foundation. HBR and CAC will be working with various experts and stakeholders to develop valuable educational information for our members.

Our task group will continue to meet monthly to monitor and discuss county legislation, current issues, educational opportunities, and other aspects related to shoreline erosion and sea level rise and its impacts on homeowner properties. We are always open to hearing from our members; please feel free to email your concerns or ideas to [email protected]. We will also continue to provide updates via HBR's City Affairs blog – stay tuned for alerts in our weekly e-news.

Current members participating in the task group:
Jennifer Andrews, Elizabeth Daily, Ayako Ancheta, Brad Kaneshiro, D'Arcy Kerrigan, Malia Meenderman, Mary Begier, Melanie Long, Olivia Schubert, Russ Hardy, Myra Brandt, Richard Sterman, William Bondanza, Zona Jones, and Scott Carvill.
