It's not too late to register to vote in the general election, and there are three easy ways to register.
Online
Go to the State Office of Elections Online Voter Registration system. A current and valid Hawaii State Driver's License or Hawaii State ID is required to use the online voter registration system. All voter registration and absentee voting requests will follow currently established deadlines.
By Mail
Download the application and complete the voter registration portion of the form, if registering to vote for the first time or if you have changed your address or your name. This form may also be used to sign up to become a permanent "vote by mail" voter. An absentee ballot will be mailed to your mailing address in Hawaii each election for as long as you continue to vote by mail and if your address information is kept up to date.
-OR-
Pick up an application form at these convenient locations:
-
All Satellite City Halls (List)
-
United States Post Offices
-
Driver's licensing agencies (voter registration only)
-
Most State of Hawaii government agencies (voter registration only)
-
Public Libraries
-
State of Hawaii Tax Booklet
-
Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages (voter registration only, two pages after the Disaster Preparedness Guide)
With the exception of driver's licensing agencies (that incorporate a voter registration form as part of the driver's license application), the locations listed above will not collect completed application forms.
Mail completed forms directly to the Office of the City Clerk.
Permanent Absentee Application
Use the voter registration form or the Online Voter Registration System to request a ballot be mailed to you on a permanent basis (provided you continue to vote by mail and your address information is kept up to date).
One-Time "Seasonal" Application
Use the voter registration form to request a ballot be mailed to you for the 2016 election year only. If you cannot vote at your polling place for any reason, or you will be absent from the State of Hawaii on Election Day, you may vote using an absentee ballot.
